FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE

At Columbus State, we have an entire First-Year Experience (FYE) program dedicated to making your transition to university life as seamless and smooth as possible — academically, socially, culturally and personally.

FYE programs begin with ROAR Orientation and continue through Perspective Courses, which are part of your plan of study. 

These courses will teach you how to handle common obstacles and concerns among first-year college students, including:

• Developing effective study
• Research and problem-solving habits
• Money management
• Avoiding the "Freshman 15"
• Career development and several other topics
